Common Cents
Terms of Service
Effective date: 2026-07-23
These Terms of Service govern your use of Common Cents, including the App (app.commoncents.money), Help Center (help.commoncents.money), and the Common Cents website.
Using Common Cents
By using Common Cents, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 13 years old to use Common Cents.
Common Cents is currently offered as a free budgeting tool. We may change, improve, suspend, or stop parts of the service as it develops.
Not financial advice
Common Cents provides tools for organizing and reflecting on information you enter. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting, or other professional advice. You are responsible for your financial decisions and should consult a qualified professional when you need advice.
Ownership of your data
You retain ownership of the financial information and other data you enter into Common Cents. We do not claim ownership of your budgeting data. Any information transmitted through optional online features is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
Your data and backups
You are responsible for the information you enter, the files you create, and the places where you store them. Keep backups of any data that matters to you. We are not responsible for lost, damaged, unavailable, or inaccurate local data, including data affected by browser storage, device problems, or a cloud-storage provider you choose.
Accounts and optional features
No account is currently required to use Common Cents. Future features may require an account or let you submit information through a form.
If you create an account or use connected features, you agree to provide accurate account information, keep your account credentials secure, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without permission. Our Privacy Policy explains how these connected features handle information.
Use the service responsibly
You may use Common Cents for lawful personal use. You may not interfere with the service, attempt to bypass security or access controls, use the service to harm others, submit malicious code, or use Common Cents in a way that violates applicable law or another person's rights.
Our content and name
Common Cents and its content, design, and software are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not give you ownership of the service or permission to use its branding except as needed to use the service normally.
Future memberships
Common cents is free to use.
Optional paid memberships may be offered in the future. Any price, payment, renewal, cancellation, refund, and related terms will be shown at checkout and will apply to that membership. These terms do not create a current obligation to purchase anything.
Availability and disclaimers
Common Cents is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not promise that it will always be available, error-free, secure, or suitable for every purpose. To the extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties that are not expressly stated in these terms.
Limits on liability
To the extent allowed by law, Common Cents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or financial losses arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Changes and ending access
We may update these terms by posting the new version here and changing the effective date. Continuing to use Common Cents after an update means you accept the updated terms. We may suspend or end access to the service if needed to protect the service, users, or others.
